GUATEMALA -- May 10/96 -- Honduran bean production is expected to reach only 38,136 MT during this season, just half of hwat was produced during the 1994-95 season. At the same time, bean demand is expected to reach 60,000 MT, creating a large gap which needs to be filled by imports.

VANCOUVER -- May 10/96 -- STAT -- Field pea production among some of the world's major producers is heading downward this season. There is a chance production will fall 5.8% to 5.4 million MT, its lowest level since 1992.
