Unease In Spot Lentil Markets
PANAMA - Apr 19/24 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on an easier note in nearby shipping positions against easing short term demand.
India's decision to allow duty free imports of peas has had an impact on lentil purchases as reflected in a decline in bulk export shipments since the fall shipping period and an major increase in field pea movement.
Even so, reported imports by the India government would be expected to remain strong through at least February, reflecting transit times from net exporting countries such as Canada.
