Mixed Week For Lentils
PANAMA - Apr 26/24 - SNS -- North American lentil markets remained mixed during the past week even though product available from growers fremains low relative to the prospective needs of the market.
This was more true for red than green lentils, with the result nominal spreads between the two classes narrowed during the past week against limited easing in greens and moderate strength in reds.
Markets are less certain about the depth of demand from India than was the case six months ago because of that country's decision to allow duty free imports of peas during the first half of the current calendar year.
