Lentils Nervous About India

PANAMA - Apr 16/24 - SNS -- Nervous sentiments remains in parts of the lentil market because of expectations of a major increase in green lentil output in North America and a possible reduction in demand from India.

Heading into India's kharif seeding period, that country's meteorological department is predicting this year's monsoon rainfall accumulations will be above normal.

Given the backdrop of relatively strong prices to farmers for tur or pigeon pea, there is some optimism land in the crop will increase this year.
