Lentils Showing Some Unease

PANAMA - Mar 5/16 - SNS -- Large green lentil markets maintained their premiums over red and other classes during the past week as deliveries from growers remain just behind the short term needs of processors and exporters.

In the absence of selling pressure, it is increasingly difficult for buyers to regain control over price direction. However, they are increasingly hopeful markets will swing back in their direction in early 2017 at the latest.

Slowing bulk movement from Canada and the United States has contributed to the idea markets are well over-done on the upside.

This does not mean further price advances are impossible, but that the current effort to ration demand would come under significant pressure if farmers have more product than thought.
