Worries Underline Lentils

VANCOUVER - Jun 13/15 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week on a moderately mixed note against limited offers from origin sellers in North America.

Moisture conditions in Saskatchewan have become a critical concern to lentil shippers because most of the crop is normally grown in those parts of the province which have the least subsoil moisture.

Possible thunder showers were forecast for the weekend, but temperatures were expected to remain relatively low, which could cause crops in affected areas to advance at a slower than normal pace.

There are chances of showers later in the week, but markets believe the province needs a widespread soaking rain to prevent crops from losing yield potential.
