Mixed Finish in Lentils

VANCOUVER - Feb 10/12 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note against conflicting signals about where lentils need to be priced to prevent a disastrous decline in plantings.

The USDA boosted its ending stock forecasts for grains and oilseeds in its latest supply and demand outlook report, pressuring those prices for the commodities in the days following the report.

By contrast, markets are starting to worry lentil markets may have fallen to levels which would cause farmers to reduce plantings by too much this year.
