Turkey's Lentil Imports Post Slow Performance

PANAMA - Mar 5/24 - SNS -- Imports of lentils for Turkey shrank versus the previous month in December, recent data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) reports.

Imports totalled 32,419 metric tons (MT) for the month, down 61% from the 82,681 MT exported the previous month. Imports so far total 860,271 MT, versus 508,591 in the same period the last calendar year.

Russia was the biggest export origin for the month, supplying 17,166 MT. Canada was the second most important supplier supplying 7,797 MT, followed by Kazakhstan at 6,868 MT.
