Turkey's Lentil Exports Maintain Firm Trend
PANAMA - Mar 5/24 - SNS -- Export shipments of lentils for Turkey showed modest gains, advancing compared to the previous month in December, trade data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) shows.
Export sales for the month totalled 63,845 metric tons (MT), up from 54,727 MT the previous month. This boosted shipments so far during the calendar year to 569,363, up 12% last year.
Algeria was the largest consumer, receiving 28,061 MT. Iraq was the second most important destination taking 8,603 MT, followed by Egypt at 5,859 MT.
