Lentils Continue Firm to Year End
PANAMA - Dec 29/23 - SNS -- Lentil markets maintained their firm tone through the end of the calendar year, helped by news imports by India will remain duty free until March 31, 2025.
Movement to India already reached a calendar record by the end of October, putting imports on pace to reach 1.44 million metric tons (MT) by the end of December.
Competition for access to the India market will be more intense during the first quarter of 2024 because duty free field pea imports will also be allowed.
