Lentil Sentiment Unchanged As Stocks Tighten
PANAMA - Dec 15/23 - SNS -- Sentiment in international lentil markets remained unchanged during the past week, with markets showing underlying strength in the face of tightening global inventories.
Markets are now questioning prospective production levels in India during its current rabi production season, noting that after a strong start, land in lentils has drifted slightly below last year.
By the middle of December, 80% of all pulses that will be planted are typically in the ground, with the result progress for to date gives a strong indication of what is likely. By this time last year, lentil seeding was 90% complete.
