Red Lentil Exports From Turkey Manage Easy Opening

PANAMA - Mar 28/23 - SNS -- Are beginning the current calendar year postedan easier performance, with red lentil exports for Turkey were well down, plunging relative to the previous month in January, judging from statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Exports during the first month of the calendar year totalled 36,467 metric tons (MT), down 53% from 77,224 MT the previous month. The data revealed export sales is up 16% from the 31,556 MT reported during the same month last year.

The number one buyer for the month was Iraq, buying 18,856 MT. Egypt was the second most important buyer buying 2,576 MT, followed by Sudan at 2,504 MT.
