Lentil Exports From Turkey Post Easy Opening

PANAMA - Mar 28/23 - SNS -- Opened the calendar year amanagedan easier month, with lentil shipments from Turkey fell compared to the previous month in January, judging from official trade statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

The latest statistics showed shipments during the month totalled 41,256 metric tons (MT), down 49% from 81,356 the previous month. Versus the same month last year, shipments are up 20% from 34,242 MT.

Iraq was the biggest consumer for the month, receiving 18,909 MT. Egypt was the second most important buyer buying 2,696 MT, followed by Algeria at 2,587 MT.
