Markets Moderately Surprised By Aussie Lentil Forecast
PANAMA - Jun 10/22 - SNS -- Lentil markets are slowly making their transition to new crop pricing now that planting of this year's crop is virtually complete in western Canada and some key parts of the United States.
Markets were moderately surprised by this year's seeded area and production estimates for Australian lentils.
Plantings are expected to increase 10% from 448,000 to 495,000 hectares but forecast lower yields would see production drop 6% to 839,000 metric tons (MT).
