Turkey's Red Lentil Imports Open On Soft Tendency

PANAMA - May 3/22 - SNS -- Imports of red lentils for Turkey fell sharply versus the previous month in February, trade data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) shows.

Imports reached 12,745 metric tons (MT) in the month, down 72% from the 46,136 MT shipped the previous month. Imports so far total 58,880 MT, compared to 59,219 during the last calendar year.

The latest movement data reported Canada was largest export origin, selling 8,722 MT. Australia was the second most important shipper selling 1,368 MT, followed by Russia at 1,105 MT.
