Canada's Red Lentil Exports Open On Soft Tone

PANAMA - Mar 8/22 - SNS -- Movement of red lentils for Canada posted massive declines, sinking versus the previous month in January, the most recent data from Statistics Canada reports.

The updated data showed exports for the month totalled 6,459 metric tons (MT), down 93% from 90,093 the previous month. Versus the same month last year, export sales are down 36% from 792,362 MT.

The most recent movement statistics showed Pakistan was number one importer, taking 2,155 MT. Turkey was the second most important consumer receiving 834 MT, followed by United States at 792 MT.
