Modest Strength In Lentils

PANAMA - Mar 5/22 - SNS -- Lentil markets finished the week's trading on a firmer note against expectations of improved demand as a result of the sanctions against Russia and the effective closure the Black Sea to commercial shipping.

Russia is not a significant exporter of lentils, but relatively large quantities flow through the Black Sea to Turkey and other destinations.

Pulse markets in general are hopeful those issues will result in a boost in short term demand and a realignment of trading patterns in favor of North America and Australia.
