Green Lentils Benefit From USDA Report
PANAMA - Jan 14/22 - SNS -- Green lentil markets maintained their form tone through the past week, helped by the final production estimates for the United States.
The USDA pegged output at 151,000 MT, down from 336,000 in 2020 and below the recent five year average of 375,000.
The United States was essentially sold out of lentils by the close of the 2020-21 marketing campaign, with the result available supplies of domestic product in the country collapsed from almost 394,000 to 152,000 MT.
