Green And Red Lentils Diverging
PANAMA - Nov 12/21 - SNS -- International lentil markets posted a mixed finish the during the past week, but maintained a generally weaker tone.
Red lentil markets are closely watching seeding progress ion India, as that will affect the country's attitudes toward duty rates on lentils and the country's gross requirements.
As of November 12, land sown to lentils has dropped from 614,000 to 523,000 hectares. If the proportion of change were maintained throughout the rabi planting season, area in lentils would end up around 1.4 million hectares, down from 1.654 million last year.
