Red Lentil Exports From Canada Post Soft Performance
PANAMA - Oct 5/21 - SNS -- So far during this marketing year posted a weaker performance, with red lentil export shipments for Canada sank compared to the previous month in August, according to available statistics from Statistics Canada.
Exports for the month totalled 25,692 metric tons (MT), down from 96,488 MT the prior month. This increased exports so far during the marketing year to 25,692, up 60% last year.
The biggest importer for the month was India, buying 7,513 MT. Turkey was the second most important consumer taking 6,618 MT, followed by Pakistan at 3,926 MT.
