Lentils Maintain Firm Tone
PANAMA - Aug 20/21 - SNS -- International lentil markets maintained their strong tone through the past week, despite good progress with this year's North American harvest.
Initial yield reports are helping maintain the bullish tone in markets. Values remain well below their record highs, but bids to growers are mostly in decile nine territory, as are export asking prices for most classes in Canada.
Values typically ease once the harvest is underway, but the belief production will fall below the needs of the market has changed normal responses.
