Lentil Imports By Turkey Post Strong Oucome
PANAMA - Aug 17/21 - SNS -- Imports of lentils for Turkey recorded huge gains, soaring relative to the previous month in June, official data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) shows.
Imports for the month reached 681 metric tons (MT), up from 290 MT the previous month. This boosted imports so far during the calendar year to 3,908, down 99% last year.
In the month, Australia was the most important origin, shipping 285 MT. Syria was the second most important export origin supplying 259 MT, followed by Egypt at 137 MT.
