Turkey's Lentil Exports Maintain Easy Trend

PANAMA - Aug 17/21 - SNS -- At this point in the current calendar year maintained a weaker tone, with lentil shipments for Turkey were well down, plunging relative to the previous month in June, judging from trade statistics from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT).

Total movement in the month reached 15,204 metric tons (MT), down 25% from the previous month's total of 20,331. So far export sales have reached 152,899 MT, down from 245,281 in the same period the last calendar year.

The most recent trade data showed Syria was biggest importer, receiving 2,785 MT. Germany was the second most important consumer receiving 1,300 MT, followed by United Kingdom at 1,042 MT.
