Lentil Values Jump On Yield Doubts
PANAMA - Aug 13/21 - SNS -- Lentil markets posted solid advances during the past week in both grower and export markets over fears production in North America will fall short of prospective needs during the 2021-22 marketing campaign.
This lifted bids to Canadian farmers for large and small green lentils into decile nine territory, while medium green and red lentils finished the week sitting at decile eight.
The rapid escalation in North American values during the past week has left many growers expecting further advances, while end users appear uncertain if prices will trend upward without interruption or relax as the harvests advance.
