Lentils Retain Firm Tone
PANAMA - Mar 12/21 - SNS -- Lentil markets showed modest strength during the past week in new crop shipping positions, while spot markets were largely unchanged.
This was the case for both red and green lentils, though Australian markets were slightly firmer against reports of purchases by Pakistan and the reluctance of the country's farmers to sell at current bid levels.
Grower resistance to selling is being reported in Canada and the United States, though deliveries into Canada's bulk handling system are maintaining a relatively good pace.
