Australia's Lentils Exports Start With Strong Note
PANAMA - Mar 4/21 - SNS -- Shipments of lentilss from Australia made modest gains, rising versus the previous month in January, official trade data from Australia Bureau of Statistics reveals.
Export sales during the opening month of the marketing year totalled 98,071 metric tons (MT), up 4% from 94,710 MT the previous month. The statistics showed movement was up 11% from the 204,297 MT recorded for the same month last year.
Bangladesh was the biggest destination, receiving 33,524 MT. Egypt was the second most important importer buying 31,281 MT, followed by Sri Lanka at 11,260 MT.
