Strong Week For Lentils
PANAMA - Feb 26/21 - SNS -- International lentil markets posted solid gains during the past week as offers of green lentils fell behind the short term needs of processors and exporters on Canada and some other origins.
Canada and the United States remains the world's largest exporters of green lentils, with both countries expecting residual stocks to be down for the third year in a row.
The United States could finish the 2020-21 marketing campaign with only an 8,000 metric ton (MT) carry over, down from 58,000 last season; while Canada could see residuals drop from 250,000 to 191,000 MT of all classes.
