Lentil Imports By Turkey Record Weak Month

PANAMA - Feb 19/21 - SNS -- Imports of lentils for Turkey dropped compared to the previous month in December, recent data from Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) shows.

Total imports in the month reached 62,626 metric tons (MT), down 7% from the previous month's total of 67,340. So far imports have reached 630,744 MT, up from 342,008 in the same period the last calendar year.

The most recent trade data revealed Canada was largest exporter, selling 57,204 MT. Kazakhstan was the second most important export origin shipping 2,348 MT, followed by Syria at 1,478 MT.
