Canada's Red Lentil Exports Post Easy Month

PANAMA - Jun 4/20 - SNS -- So far during the marketing year recorded a easier month, with red lentil export shipments from Canada posted significant declines, slumping compared to the previous month in April, judging from official trade data from Statistics Canada.

Total shipments during the month amounted to 127,833 metric tons (MT), down 30% from the previous month's total of 181,455. So far shipments have amounted to 1,076,348 MT, up from 883,517 in the same period the previous marketing year.

For the month, Turkey was the biggest importer, buying 59,538 MT. Bangladesh was the second most important importer buying 24,048 MT, followed by India at 12,088 MT.
