Birdseed Value Remain Mixed
PANAMA - Oct 28/16 - SNS -- Harvest selling pressure remained a factor in birdseed ingredient markets in the United States during the past week, while harvest wishing pressure is starting to be felt in Canada.
Good progress continues to be reported with the sunflower seed harvest in the United State. As the week got underway, 46% of the crop was in the bin, compared to 48% last year and the previous 5-year average of 40%.
Reported yields are good, suggesting that sunflower markets could experience additional price pressure as the harvest advances.
Canada's canaryseed harvest is only half complete because rain and snow has made it virtually impossible for farmers to enter fields.
