Birdseed Weakness Continues
PANAMA - Mar 5/16 - SNS -- Weakness noted in birdseed ingredient markets the previous week remained in place for much of the market.
Though white proso millet values were up significantly on worries over this year's seeding intentions, weakness was evident in both canaryseed and oil-type sunflower seed markets.
Looking at the situation, the U.S. based National Sunflower Association (NSA), noted, "Crop budgets are still showing both confection and oil sunflowers among the top-earners in 2016.
"New crop sunflower prices are very competitive with other crops and processors are still offering 2016 new crop cash and Act of God (AOG) contracts for fall delivery."
