New Record High Lentil Prices
PANAMA - Dec 12/15 - SNS -- International green lentil markets maintained their strong tone through the past week.
Helped by weakness in the Canadian dollar, grower bids in Canada continued to set new record highs for green and red lentils. Green lentil bids in the United States held at their record highs.
This has finally translated into record export asking price levels for Canadian green lentils, with markets for top grade product pushing through their previous highs during the week.
Markets expect this to translate into massive increases in lentil seedings in both Canada and the United States in 2016. New records should be set for crop area.
