VANCOUVER - Sep 5/15 - SNS -- Importers reported a modest decline in export asking prices for lentils as harvest activity in Canada advances at a rapid rate.
As the week got underway, an estimated 72% of Saskatchewan's lentil crop was in the bin. If average progress was made during the past week, around 87% of the crop should now be harvested, with the prospect it will be essentially complete by the middle of the month.
On average, Canada's lentil harvest is 70% complete by the middle of September, wrapping up around the middle of October.
