Further Drop in Orange Crop Forecast

WASHINGTON - Jun 11/14 - SNS -- The United States all orange forecast for the 2013-2014 season is 6.94 million tons, down 4% from the previous forecast and down 16% from the 2012-2013 final utilization, according to the USDA's latest crop production estimates for 2014.

The Florida all orange forecast, at 104 million boxes (4.69 million tons), is down 5% from the previous forecast and down 22% from last season's final utilization. Early, midseason, and Navel varieties in Florida are forecast at 53.3 million boxes (2.40 million tons), unchanged from the previous forecast but down 21% from last season.

The Florida Valencia orange forecast, at 51.0 million boxes (2.30 million tons), is down 11% from the previous forecast and down 23% from last season's final utilization. California and Texas production forecasts are carried forward from April.
