Little Change in U.S, Citrus Forecast

WASHINGTON - Feb 10/14 - SNS -- Citrus fruit production is little changed from the January crop report, though there were sone significant changes in the production outlook for individual class, according to the USDA latest crop report.

The United States all orange forecast for the 2013-2014 season is 7.39 million tons, unchanged from the previous forecast but down 11% from the 2012-2013 final utilization

Florida's tangelo forecast is 800,000 boxes (36,000 tons), down 20% from the January forecast and last season's final utilization. The Row Count Survey conducted January 28-29 showed 67% of the rows were harvested.

The United States tangerine and mandarin crop is forecast at 702,000 tons, up 1% from the January forecast and up 3% from last season's final utilization. In Florida, early tangerine harvest is complete and droppage is near average. Arizona and California estimates are carried forward from the January 1 forecast.
