Canada's Lentil Exports Maintain Strong Trend
PANAMA - Nov 5/19 - SNS -- Canada's exports of lentils in September recorded massive increases, rising versus the previous month, judging from data from Statistics Canada.
Movement totalled 272,608 metric tons (MT) in the month, up 138% from the 114,531 MT shipped the previous month. Shipments so far total 387,139 MT, versus 312,183 during the previous marketing year.
Current trade statistics showed India was top buyer, receiving 89,669 MT during the month. Bangladesh was the second most important consumer taking 70,034 MT, followed by Turkey at 31,029 MT.
