Final Lentil Harvest Stage A Struggle

PANAMA - Oct 2/16 - SNS -- Rainy weather has delayed Canada's lentil harvest, likely increasing the percentage of offgrade product in the remaining fields.

The current weather outlook is mixed, with southern Saskatchewan expecting more rain and cool temperatures as the week progresses, while northern crop districts could see clear skies and warmer temperatures.

Harvest activity is more advanced in the south than the north, implying that forecast weather patterns may not be a serious problem for much of the remaining crop.
