Frost Anxiety Eases

VANCOUVER - May 22/15 - SNS -- North American lentil markets were little changed under relatively quiet time trading conditions.

Last week's frost event in Saskatchewan created considerable anxiety in markets. However, many processors and farmers do not believe there was extensive damage to crops.

Roughly half the crop was seeded soon enough to have possibly emerged when the frost hit. However, conditions had been cool, slowing plant development, and thereby reducing the proportion of crop which might be affected.
