Canada's Bulk Lentil Exports Flounder in January

VANCOUVER - Feb 24/15 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 2,300 metric tons (MT) lentils were exported through licensed facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in January.

The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.

The CGC reports 41,600 MT were shipped the same month last year, while movement is down from the 35,100 MT shipped the previous month.

This lifted season to date bulk exports to 336,200 MT since the August start of the current marketing year, compared to 232,100 MT during the same period last season. The 2013-14 marketing year finished with 440,300 MT of lentils exported through facilities reporting to the CGC, versus 231,900 MT the previous season.
