VANCOUVER - May 3/14 - SNS -- Canadian green lentil markets continued to firm through the past week against a modest improvement in export demand.
Fresh buying has helped focus attention on the stocks situation in western Canada, with most market participants expecting overall stocks to approach a sold out condition.
Judging from export performance to date of the two major classes, red lentils stand a good chance of being virtually sold out by the end of the marketing year.
