Lentils Ease As Harvest Rushes Forward

VANCOUVER -= Sep 14/13 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading on a weaker note as the North American lentil harvest moved into its final stages.

The quality of the Canadian crop is considered to be excellent, with some traders thinking it will turn out to be an above average crop both in terms of yield and quality.

Growers in Canada appear to have been relatively aggressive seller's of new crop pulses, having delivered 105,000 metric tons (MT) of lentils and 725,100 MT of peas to primary elevators since August 1.
