Canada's Bulk Lentil Exports Drop in June

VANCOUVER - Jul 29/13 - SNS -- The Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) reports 17,100 metric tons (MT) lentils were exported through licensed terminal facilities which are required to report to it all grain movement in June. The CGC data does not include exports in containers or from non-reporting terminals.

The CGC reports exports are down from the 27,400 MT shipped the same month last year and down from the 42,800 MT shipped the previous month. This lifted season to date exports to 205,600 MT since the August start of the current marketing year, versus 177,200 MT during the same period last season.

The 2011-12 marketing year finished with 175,866 MT of lentils exported through terminals reporting to the CGC, versus 187,085 MT the previous season.

So far this calendar year, 147,000 MT of lentils have been exported through bulk terminals, compared to 67,600 during the same period last season.
