U.S. Orange Outlook Worsens

WASHINGTON - Jun 12/13 - SNS -- The United States all orange forecast for the 2012-2013 season is 8.42 million tons, down 2% from the previous forecast and down 6% from the 2011-2012 final utilization, according to the USDA's latest crop report.

The Florida all orange forecast, at 134 million boxes (6.03 million tons), is down 3% from the May forecast and down 9% from last season's final utilization. Early, midseason, and Navel varieties in Florida are forecast at 67.0 million boxes (3.02 million tons), unchanged from the May forecast but down 10% from last season.

The Florida Valencia orange forecast, at 67.0 million boxes (3.02 million tons), is down 6% from the May forecast and down 8% from last season's final utilization. The reduction in Florida's Valencia orange forecast is based on current and projected utilization for the remainder of the season. California and Texas production forecasts are carried forward from May.
