Large Caliber Chickpeas Tight

VANCOUVER - Oct 20/12 - SNS -- International chickpea markets finished the week's trading under mixed conditions against reports of problems with Argentina's winter pulse crops.

While large caliber chickpea markets were generally firm on the week, the proportion of small caliber product is expected to be larger than usual because of sizing problems with both the U.S. and Argentina harvests.

The problems is expected to be more pronounced in Argentina than in North America. The issue is being compounded by disappointment with average yields in both regions.
