Firmer Undertone on Week in Lentils
VANCOUVER - Aug 24/12 - SNS -- International lentils markets finished the week's trading generally unchanged, but with a slightly firmer undertone in relatively light trading conditions.
Markets found some support in the first Canadian crop estimates of the year, with Statistics Canada cutting its acreage estimate and forecasting that yields would be no better than average.
Its ideas about yields are consistent with many processors and exporters, who say that areas where crops look good are offset by areas where crops have struggled.
