Chickpea Production Trending Upward
VANCOUVER - Jun 1/12 - SNS -- International chickpea markets maintained their firm tone in limited trading activity during the past week.
While world production is still expected to rise this year, problems in strategically important areas has prevented markets from responding to potential supply pressure during the first half of the year.
This has end users looking for supply relief from smaller producers such as Canada. Unfortunately, while farmers intend to increase chickpea plantings in Canada this year, they may not plant their intended area.
