Chickpea Markets Strengthen
VANCOUVER - Apr 14/12 - SNS -- International chickpea markets maintained their firm tone during the past week against steep increases in asking prices for Indian origin product.
Markets remain uncertain about the outcome of this year's kabuli chickpea harvest in India, but many participants believe they see evidence of a significant shortage of good quality product.
Discounts for 8mm kabuli chickpeas from India appear to widening; while there appears to a fundamental shortage of large caliber product.
