Holiday Weekend Quiets Lentils

VANCOUVER - Jul 2/11 - SNS -- International lentil markets maintained their firm tone in a shortened trading week on account of national holidays in both Canada and the United States.

Markets are also entering the summer holiday period, which is normally associated with a steep reduction in buying interest in Europe and other northern hemisphere countries.

This often results in a reduction in the number of end user buyers -- at the same time as markets tend to be more worried about evolving weather stories in growing areas than they about prospective demand.
