Acreage Doubts Support Lentils

VANCOUVER - Jun 25/11 - SNS -- Lentil markets finished the week's trading on a firm note against continued doubts about how many acres of the crop were actually planted in Canada and the United States.

Concern over the final seeded area was amplified by the fact crops are developing more slowly than usual, increasing the risk of weather problems later in the growing season.

Market sentiment was also helped by the fact more product will leave Canada before the end of the marketing year on bulk vessels.
