Weaker Undertone in Lentils

VANCOUVER - Apr 9/11 - SNS -- International lentil markets finished the week's trading with a weaker undertone as grower selling interest stepped ahead of the short term needs of processors and exporters.

Markets are comfortable with the idea of a reduced seeded area in Canada, but here is an underlying worry about the impact heavy snowfall accumulations will have on seeding.

Most market participants believe seeding in Canada will not be general until the first half of May, while any more snow storms or heavy rainfall events could further delay seeding in some areas.
